Title: OpenDCL Studio 7 and 8 on same computer
Post by: Jim Short on February 25, 2015, 06:45:23 AM
I want to maintain a 7 project for AutoCAD and install OpenDCL Studio 8 to try with Bricscad V15.
Is there a way to do this where there will be no interference between version?
Thanks for any procedural instructions.
Jim

There is no way to have both installed at once, although I suppose you could keep the OpenDCL 7 ARX modules in another folder and load them manually. Your OpenDCL 7 project will work in OpenDCL 8, so you can just update to 8 and leave your old projects unchanged.

You mean I can update to 8 and still develop for my Acad 2004 version. What about underscores and such?

IYour old project will work fine in OpenDCL 8, it's just that if you start working on it in 8 then you can't later move it back to 7 again. However, if you just want to test in Bricscad 15, you can do that without changing anything in 8, then go back to active development in 7 once you're finished testing. I hope that makes sense.
