So I had a couple of hours to kill and I was thinking about this thread:
http://www.theswamp.org/index.php?topic=25103.0 (http://www.theswamp.org/index.php?topic=25103.0)
So here's what I came up with:
Now I'm an architect, NOT a mechanical engineer, so this is just a skeleton project that would need to be fleshed out with actual components. The components (blocks) are organized into 4 categories (drawings): Ducts.dwg, Reducers.dwg, Elbows.dwg and Diffusers.dwg. If you want to add or edit components, just open the appropriate drawing and have at it. I've made the Ducts in the Ducts.dwg dynamic: you can stretch them lengthwise. So let your imagination run wild when creating these components.
Requirements: OpenDCL 5.0.0.25, get it here:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/opendcl/ (http://sourceforge.net/projects/opendcl/)
The project uses ObjectDBX to access the remote blocks in the 4 category drawings. If the block doesn't already exist, it's imported.
I think that's it. Wadda ya think?
