Title: palettes vs control bars
Post by: Jim Short on December 16, 2008, 04:02:58 PM
Are there any examples of what is possible with OpenDCL palettes? How do the differ from control bars?
Thanks,
Jim

There are no example that specifically show the differences.
But you can have a look at the "MasterDemo" & compare it to the AU demo http://www.opendcl.com/forum/index.php?topic=501.0 (http://www.opendcl.com/forum/index.php?topic=501.0)
I think the main difference that the control bar doesn't have is the Auto-Hide.
But the palettes still do need some more work, then they'll be more differences.

Then there is hope still.
Palette functionality looks good when floating. When hidden one can still see the title bar and arrows.
However when docked it goes full screen height. Wouldn't be nice if the tilebar snapped to an edge and held its floating shape?

I be leave that's the behavior for the standard Acad palettes, so there's probably not much Owen can do about that....
