You really don't need to move\copy the ARX\BRX files. Just install the Studio or Runtime & AutoCAD\BricsCAD will demand load OpenDCL.That's good to know, but I'd really like to copy the files to my network...There are a number of considerations before coping the files to the network.
- Manual installation disconnects the files from Windows' reference counting mechanism, which means that installing multiple simultaneous OpenDCL applications may not work properly.
- Your code will have to determine which version of the ARX/BRX to load. e.g. 16, 17, or 18 & 32-bit or 64-bit.
OK I understand the risks and I'm willing to take them...The files are located here:
32-bit OS: C:\Program Files\Common Files\OpenDCL
64-bit OS: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\OpenDCL
There are some other common issues you may encounter if you do copy the files to the network.
- Copy ALL the files & sub-folders, including the .dll's, or you'll get errors & they wont load.
- If you install an updated Studio or Runtime, it will get installed locally. You'll have to remember to copy the updated version to the network again.
- If a user installs a 3rd. party app. that uses a different version of OpenDCL, more then likely one of the apps will break.
