I have given up on PayPal for donations. They suspended our account from accepting payments, and never responded to emails. I'm hoping for an enterprising volunteer to research alternatives to PayPal.

I'm also overdue to make a donation. 

WISE looks pretty good (https://wise.com). I've used it to receive funds and has lower exchange/transfer rates than PayPal.
To send money, you set up an account and enter the recipient's email address.  WISE contacts the recipient requesting bank details and once provided transfers the funds.   

To receive funds a shareable link can be created which I assume can be used like a PayPal payment link.
